Hamid Bahrami

I started loving cinema because of my father. He liked filming and had a Sony Handy Cam. He filmed our family, nature, and sometimes himself. I remember one time we were traveling and there was a big accident. My father took his camera and filmed the people and the accident. I was very young, but I found this film recently and it was amazing to me. I think I learned my love for cinema from him. A few years later, he passed away, and I grew up watching films. Then I decided to become a filmmaker.

During my university studies, I often went to my classmates’ shootings and had many interesting experiences. I also gained experience as an assistant director, script supervisor, and in editing. I was learning about shooting, and I found it very exciting. Most of the time, I wrote scripts. One day, I decided to make one of my scripts, which became my first real filmmaking experience, called “Baggage.” Before “Baggage”, I had made a few training and practice films.
